Symbolic Map

Picture
For this project we had to design a map of an island that contains symbols that represent us. We first did a draft on our sketch book of what he wanted the map to have and the symbols with their meaning. We draw the map on a cardboard and then paint it with water colors. My map has things like party volcanoes that symbolizes that I like to go to parties. There are things like artist forest or colada morada peninsula that symbolize my family and traditions. I have a aountry club that symolizes my passion for sports and for my soccer team.  I draw first and them painted the sea with paint and the rest of the map I used water colors.

This project was kind of hard because I had to think a lot what when designing the symbols. I found really hard to come up with symbols that connect with somehting about me. It was also really hard to paint with water colors because you had to use water carefully so you dont put too much water. I liked painting with water colors eventhough all the trouble. My strength in this project was when using paint to paint bigger areas, because I had trouble using water colors.

My House

Picture
This project was about desgining our house with things about us and what we like. I did a strange shape because I wantes it to be simple but different at the same time. It has kind of a dimond shape. In the front there is a painting of trees and a blue sky. This is because it reminds me of the summer, and  I love summer. The other side is a night, with the moon and the stars that are shinning. This represents hope, the stars and the moon represent hope for me. When the night has a lot of stars or the moon is huge I enjoy watching them, and make wishes to them too. That is why they represent hope. The 3rd side of the house it painted with many brilliant colors and has lots of windows. This represents that I am very happy and opened to people, friendly. The 4th side has a dark background and I only sprayed different colors randomly. This represents that I´m spontaneous. We did this project with masa das and colored it with paints.

The most difficult part was to put the house together. My weakness was while working with masa das. I did the walls of my house really thin and when it was almost dry it started breaking apart and i had to put them together again. The walls have to be thick but not too thick other wise is difficult to give them shape. Another problem was when putting them together because they bent if they weren´t dry. My srtength was while painting because I knew exactly what I wanted to paint and what other materials i wanted to use, like glitter and metallic paint. An improvement will be to make the walls thicker so the house is more resistant.

One-point Perspective Room

Picture
For this projct we had to draw a room using one point perspective. We first learned about one point perspective so we were able to do this project. The drawing had to have an horizon line and a vanishing point. Then we had to draw furniture, a door and windows. We had to have those elements and create the room the way we wanted it.  I painted it using markers, water colors and color pencils. this project was really easy because the technique is really simple. The objective of this project was to practice one point perspective.

My strenghts in this project was drawing the room. The technique uses is really simple, you have only to connect the lines to the vanishin point to have that 3D look. What I could have done better is choosing the materials to paint it. I used 3 different materials and the were working well until the water got mixed with the marker and the ink started vanishing. An improvement will be to use only markers or only water colors ir it will end up being a mess. Apart from that, everything was done correctly and I accomplished the objective.,
